Our technology and services power advertising in Apple News and Search Ads in the App Store. The Ad Platforms Data Insights team is seeking a data scientist to join the Predictive Analytics Team in Austin, TX. The team is passionate about developing forward looking intelligence products for our marketplace. In this role you will work as a key member of a data-centric team to drive the exploration, analysis, development and execution of various solutions: revenue and opportunities forecasting models, understanding of user behavior and user engagement with our products, as well as finding ways of applying our findings and models through partnerships with other teams You will be tasked with discovering various patterns and trends in vast amounts of data and using these trends to advise business decisions. A successful candidate will have on-hands experience in various machine learning methods (particularly clustering and forecasting), ability to interpret results of analysis to drive business insights and forward looking decisions and ability to implement production-ready models. The role requires a broad knowledge of data mining algorithms, a strong eye for business, and creativity to invent and customize when needed. You’ll work directly with a broad range of data professionals and business leaders while using tools and methods to drive real-world business value. You will be a key player in a multi-functional team that delivers insights that have direct and measurable impact.

Key Qualifications

  • Hands on experience in quantitative analysis, including regression, classification, time-series, clustering. Ability to work with vast quantities of data.
  • Understanding of model development lifecycle from analysis and algorithm selection, to validation, and all the way to production implementation. Work efficiently with engineering partners on implementing your solutions.
  • Programming skills in Python and SQL.
  • Proficient with analytics tools such as R, Spark, and Tableau.
  • Ability to communicate the results of analyses in a clear and effective manner to influence the overall strategy of the product.
  • Experience in a data science role - preferably in digital advertising.


  • Support Executive team, Product, Marketing, and Partner. Development/Sales team by developing progressive view of product performance.
  • Become an authority on both the business and the data to drive new insights.
  • Develop variety of scalable predictive solutions and engage with other teams on facilitating usage of these models. Implement these solutions in production environment.

Education & Experience

  • Masters or Bachelors degree in a quantitative field of study including statistics, math, economics, operations research or a related field.
