Staff Data Manager – Air bp B2B
We are recruiting a senior global leader, to scope, define, enable, and lead the delivery of strategic best-in-class digital, data & analytics products for bp’s global Air bp B2B business.

What is the day to day like?
As Staff Data Manager, you will work as part of a global cross-discipline team leading squads of data engineers, data analysts, data managers and data scientists delivering data and analytics solutions at pace, in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
You will be responsible for scoping and defining data and analytics elements of use cases, reviewing, and assuring the technical feasibility of solutions and identifying technical data and analytics skills required to deliver and support them. As a senior leader, you will manage and right-size budgets, roadmaps and plans and build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, driving improvements and business value.
In this role, you will develop a deep understanding of Air bp’s business and will help them understand how data & analytics can enable their strategy and deliver actionable insights and value. You will research best-in-class data and analytics solutions, staying well-informed of industry best-practice and new technologies.
In the process, you will grow a collaborative network across bp and externally with JV partners and industry leaders. You will support the team by coaching, developing and mentoring data sub-discipline squad members, creating positive engagement and driving an inclusive work environment.

  • Experience leading, growing, and developing Agile digital and/or data and analytics teams.
  • Hands-on experience in data management, data engineering, data analytics or data science, governance and process automation in sophisticated, global environments.
  • Strong communication and collaborator leadership skills.
  • Experience working within B2B, supply chain, marketing or B2C a plus.
  • Customer-centric and pragmatic mentality.
  • Focus on value delivery and swift execution, while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Applied knowledge of data management and governance across all data lifecycle stages.
  • Experience of delivery of data products within cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS preferred
  • Understanding or proficiency in SQL and/or python preferred.
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g. Hadoop, Hive, and Spark) is a plus.
  • Ability to lead large organizations through influence.
