As a member of the C3 AI Data Science team, you will work with some of the largest companies on the planet helping them build the next generation of AI-powered enterprise applications on the C3 AI Suite (c3.ai/customers/). You will work directly with data scientists, software engineers, and subject matter experts in the definition of new analytics capabilities able to provide our customers with the information they need to make proper decisions and enable their digital transformation. You will help find the appropriate machine learning/data mining algorithms to answer those questions and implement those on the C3 AI Suite so they can run at scale.

As a manager, you will be responsible for a team of data scientists. Your performance will be measured by your team’s output and it will be your responsibility to motivate, energize, and provide technical supervision to your team.

Qualified candidates will have an in-depth knowledge of the most common machine learning techniques and their applications. You will also understand the limitations of these algorithms and how to tweak them or derive from them to achieve similar results at large-scale.

Your Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of data scientists; provide continuous guidance, feedback and lead team members in overcoming challenges.
• Research, design, guide, implement and deploy Machine Learning algorithms for enterprise applications leveraging the C3 AI Suite.
• Assist and enable C3 AI customers to build their own applications on the C3 AI Suite.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of new features of the C3 AI Suite and C3 AI Applications.
• Contribute to making C3 AI a great place to work, and foster a culture of excellence and professionalism.
• Lead by example and demonstrate C3 AI core values in day-to-day activities.
• Grow the data science team by actively leading recruiting efforts for Singapore.
• Support sales and pre-sales activities in the region.

Requirements:

• MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Optimization, Econometrics, Operational Research, or equivalent.
• 3+ years of professional experience applying ML, ideally in a customer-facing role.
• Experience managing people directly.
• Deep understanding of common ML techniques (regression and classification, time series analysis, supervised & unsupervised learning, and deep learning). 
• Strong mathematical background (linear algebra, calculus, statistics, optimization).
• Strong coding skills in Python (or similar object-oriented programming language).
• Ability to drive a project and work both independently and in a team.
• Smart, motivated can-do attitude and seeks to make a difference.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn about our customer's industries.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
• Work will be conducted at our office in Singapore; hybrid work policy with one day of flexible work per week.

Preferred

• Knowledge of git and experience with JavaScript, Java, or Scala is a plus.
• Experience with scalable ML (distributed systems, MapReduce, streaming).
• A portfolio of projects (GitHub, papers, etc.) is a plus.
