Job Description

Would you like to help shape the intelligent assistant of the future? Want to contribute to transforming how human beings interact with technology through voice? We are looking for a data science leader to drive product understanding and insights for the Siri Assistant while mentoring data scientists and building a culture of technical excellence. Focus areas range from language (language understanding, speech production) to devices and home use cases (devices in the home for music and video use cases). You will lead a product analytics team with the goal of understanding how people interact with the Siri intelligent agent using voice and language.

Key Qualifications

• Proficiency in data science and analytics, including statistical data analysis and A/B testing, and machine learning. Experience crafting, conducting, analyzing, and interpreting experiments and deep-dive investigations.
• Ability to manage complex relationships across multiple functions and establish strong partnerships. Outstanding communication and presentation skills, written and verbal, to all levels of an organization.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain difficult technical topics (especially causal topics) to everyone from data scientists to engineers to business partners.
• 5+ years as a data scientist; 3+ years in a managerial role, growing and scaling the impact of an analytics team.
• Ability to understand a technically complex product, and work with engineering leads and data engineers.
• Strong analytical product intuition: able to understand the user experience and use data to guide the development of products.

Description

As a Data Science Manager for Siri, you will lead a team of data scientists working to deepen our understanding of how hundreds of millions of people use Siri across an array of products — iPhone, iPad, HomePod, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV, CarPlay and across endless use cases from music and messaging to home automation and general knowledge discovery.

• Lead a team of Data Scientists, while also contributing hands-on to projects.
• Organize and lead a product analytics strategy to measure and understand Siri, how people use it, and how to improve it.
• Build relationships with Engineering leads and product partners across the Siri product ecosystem to drive a privacy-first strategy for analytical insight.
• Foster a data-driven culture for product optimization, including product understanding from data and experimentation.
• Employ a diverse toolkit of rigorous analytical approaches, methodologies, frameworks, and technical approaches to uncover opportunities to improve Siri.
• Build credibility with partners through clarity and strategic thinking.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree, ideally in a technical or quantitative field
• Masters a plus (statistics, computer science)
• Ph.D. (science, technical field, statistics) a plus but not required
