We are looking for an exceptional talent with a strong foundation large scale ML Infrastructure/distributed systems, domain expertise in NLP and passionate about shipping products to make impact in user experiences.

Key Qualifications

• Passionate about building technology to help keep children safe
• Strong background in scaling and operating distributed systems with big data processing
• Previous experience with developing large scale ML infrastructure and pipelines
• Strong NLP fundamentals
• Expertise in text processing and analysis
• Hands-on experience with building large scale NLP systems and developing deep learning models
• Proficiency in using ML toolkits, e.g., PyTorch, Tensorflow
• Exceptional programing skill in languages like Python, C++
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative environment

Description

The role focuses on driving machine learning infrastructure and modeling, while working on large scale language datasets. You will start working at the intersection of NLP and infrastructure with the potential to further expand your responsibilities to include other modalities such as visual and audio. You will design and lead infrastructure strategy with internal partners to enable large scale data mining, active learning across modalities, distributed model training and interfacing with production server side workflows. The role has plenty of opportunities for collaboration with several engineering teams at Apple that work on machine learning, NLP and infrastructure.

You will be responsible for further advancing or building new capabilities in natural language understanding to keep children safe on Apple’s devices and services.

Education & Experience

• S. or PhD in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science or a related field (mathematics, physics or computer engineering), with a focus on NLP and/or machine learning or comparable professional experience

Additional Requirements

• Previous experience working in the domain of child safety is a plus
