The Opportunity

The Digital Strategy Group (DSG) works with C-level leadership at Adobe’s Enterprise customers to advise on strategies for customer-experience transformation and digital innovation. DSG engagements employ Adobe’s digital benchmarking capabilities, industry trends, customer-journey mapping, organizational assessments and other techniques to deliver high-impact recommendations. Today, Adobe is at the forefront of enabling our customers’ digital transformation and new experience-led business models.

As a Data Scientist, you will work with large data sets to identify industry trends and benchmarks that will provide Adobe customers insights on how to improve relative performance. You will need to find innovative approaches for evaluating the digital strategies of the world’s largest brands through analysis of their digital performance data made available via Adobe Experience Cloud, the world’s largest collection of such data.

What you'll Do

This role will require you to mine both structured and unstructured elements of digital performance data to compare and analyze companies with similar objectives. You will work closely with the Marketing & Customer Insights practice and with the Digital Strategy Group at Adobe to share the insights you find with Adobe’s senior enterprise customers. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and can adapt to shifting conditions, priorities, and deadlines, is meticulous and detail-oriented, and is a self-starter. This person will develop and prescribe how to aggregate and share anonymous digital benchmark data with customers. You will interact with internal users to define, synthesize, and prioritize data requirements and work with engineering groups to assess the feasibility of potential approaches.

What you need to succeed

  • Degree in a quantitative discipline with coding emphasis (e.g. Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems Management, Math, Statistics)
  • Big data manipulation and programming
  • Proficient in querying languages such as SQL
  • Proficient in scripting language languages (Python, R)
  • Solid object-oriented programming background (e.g. Java)
  • Experience with data visualization software and techniques (Power BI, Tableau, D3.js)
  • Able to script and automate simple tasks to facilitate your daily work
  • Strong listening skills with the ability to collaborate successfully with people at all levels in an organization

Desirable but not essential

  • Familiarity with API calls, Hadoop, AWS S3
  • Familiarity with digital marketing performance measurement
  • Familiarity with Adobe Analytics (Reporting API) helpful
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively both verbally and in writing
