CACI is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to work as part of an integrated team to support the growth and change for the Naval Sustainment Systems – Shipyards (NSS-SY), focused on organizational change supporting NAVSEA 04T Industrial Operations Transformation at NAVSEA headquarters located in Washington, DC. This role will apply data analytics methodologies and approaches to inform senior leaders on the results of business process improvements at large naval installations. Responsibilities include data collection, analysis, and visualization for presentations to senior leadership.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Develop strategies to harness data analytics to deeply understand and improve organizational performance and inform data-driven decision making.
  • Create visualizations to communicate performance and process health metrics to program stakeholders.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and feed changes back into performance reports to validate process improvement initiative effectiveness.
  • Enhance the methods, tools, effectiveness, and outcomes of Naval Shipyard Innovation and Implementation and ensuring alignment with corporate initiatives.
  • Coordinate with diverse team to develop briefs and refine performance improvement approach based on data and requirements analysis.
  • Prepare briefing materials for various program manager briefings and presentations with completed staff work.
  • Deliver regular status and findings reports capturing the actions, progress, and way-forward recommendations.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree and 5 years of experience in Data Analytics or Data Science.
  • Strong proficiency with data visualization and presentation tools such as Tableau, MS Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience developing models with VBA or Python.
  • Experience creating dashboards in SharePoint or Tableau.
  • Strong business analysis background and experience working with large data sets and using sound judgement in making excellent recommendations driving process transformation.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the preparation, selection, organization, and presentation of information in a concise and coherent manner.
  • Adapts quickly to shifting priorities, and willing to learn
  • Critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to function as a team member in a demanding environment.
  • Ability to communicate with customers at all levels of the organization in a professional, effective manner.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge or experience working in a naval or shipyard environment.
  • Experience engaging directly with clients/customers.
  • Familiarity with measuring and modeling business performance metrics.
