Job Description

The Data Science Intern, a member of our Data Science Team, will have a great opportunity to enhance and innovate the advanced analytics supporting pricing recommendations in a business-to-business context.

The charter of Vistex’ data science team is to continuously and pro-actively add more intelligence the go-to-market functionality that Vistex delivers to their customers. To achieve this, the data science team leverages deep expertise in data-driven science as well as acumen in business-to-business commerce. This data-driven science includes broad areas of mathematics, statistics, econometrics, operations research and computer science, in domains such as machine learning, cluster analysis, data mining, and mathematical programming.

This includes:

• supporting ongoing analytic work with data analysis,
• exploring and validating new techniques for pricing insights and price recommendations, and
• simulating pricing concepts to assess the potential value and analyze in-market behavior.

The internship will result in a summary paper and a final presentation.

Responsibilities:

Work under the guidance of an experienced data scientist on the following types of tasks:

• Execute analytical work such as segmentation, forecasting, simulation and mathematical programming,
• Conduct an effective and efficient proof of concept and proof of value project, and
• Define reliable, controlled, automated analytic processes.
• Document and present results
