What You'll Do

  • As a Technical Marketing Engineer in the Detection & Response group, you will be a technical ambassador responsible for driving partner enablement and field readiness, ensuring alignment with messaging, building mindshare, and educating customers.
  • You will quantify competitive characteristics and proof points of Kenna products and solutions vs. those of competitors for internal stakeholders, transforming your deep product analysis into actionable and compelling collateral and functional comparison whitepapers, presentations, and demos.
  • You’ll deliver customer webcasts, author technology blog posts, design and maintain product demo labs, and create customer and partner training content. As someone who frequently interacts with customers and partners, you will provide use case insights and analysis to product management and engineering teams. Activities include, but are not limited to:
  • Developing technical collateral, including white papers, technical slide decks, and presentations
  • Design and maintain the Product Management Lab environment
  • Presenting at trade shows and conferences such as Cisco Live!
  • Working with engineering to define product requirements and feature priorities
  • Assisting Sales and CX with customer requirements
  • Educating Sales and CX teams at conferences and workshops
  • Testing new technologies/releases in the lab
  • Analyzing and defining competitive threats
  • Briefing senior executives on competitive threats

Who You Are

  • Minimum BA/BS degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field
  • 5-10 years of prior experience working in a software engineering or related role and 3-5 years of prior experience working as a Technical Marketing Engineer or related role
  • Prior experience with SaaS security products and competitive benchmarking
  • Ability to understand, decompose, organize, and manage cross-functional initiatives
  • Ability to quickly acquire new skills and knowledge to tackle any problem facing the business, even in areas that may be unfamiliar
  • Ability to engage on a technical level with engineers, partners, and customers
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with others using soft skills in a matrixed environment
  • Understanding of scripting, automation, and various programming languages
  • Technical understanding of vulnerability management, vulnerability assessment, and market trends
  • Prior experience managing a Lab environment including Virtualization, Host Management (Windows & Linux), Network & Security management
  • Influence product roadmap and positioning strategies
  • Willingness to travel to support sales, training, and marketing efforts
