Job Description

The Senior Marketing Data Analyst is a creative and innovative thinker with an ability to translate large, complex data into simple, actionable recommendations. This person will understand the marketing process have a deep knowledge of marketing technologies, including CRM, Google Analytics (GAP), loyalty programs, etc. They will partner with key marketing stakeholders to measure, analyze and report on Sunoco’s marketing efforts to maximize their effectiveness, optimize return on investment and drive results. This role will be key in collaborating cross-functionally to build data-driven solutions from large data sets, apply methods to interpret and visualize the data, and deliver and present actionable insights and recommendations that improve marketing performance and lead to greater business insight.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead marketing analytics for Sunoco’s programs, including the Go Rewards fuel loyalty program, partnership marketing, mobile app performance, credit card programs, among other marketing programs. Partner with marketing and loyalty strategy agencies to analyze marketing performance
  • Conduct competitive and market assessments related to partnership programs and fuel loyalty programs to facilitate key growth initiatives
  • Conduct marketing program analysis, including incrementally, campaign performance, engagement and lift analysis, attribution, and churn analysis
  • Perform complex quantitative analysis on internal, market, and customer-level datato identify key trends and insights to support business strategy. Clearly communicate and present insights to marketing team, senior leadership and key stakeholders
  • Work on other special projects as assigned, which include cross-utilization within the department or with other departments
  • Lead ongoing effort to continually evolve and improve marketing analytics capabilities and tools, including reporting and dashboards.
  • Partner with marketing to design, execute and analyze tests for performance and direct marketing efforts
  • Support management of budget by working with key internal stakeholders to understand and report variances on a monthly basis

Qualification:

  • Experience working with Mar-Tech’s. Including CRM, GAP, loyalty etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Math, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, or other quantitative, technical, or social science field preferred. Degree in other fields with demonstrated ability and experience also accepted
  • Masters or MBA is a plus
  • 5 - 8 years of experience in marketing data/analytics or similar analytical role
  • Prior experience working in marketing preferred
  • High analytical and quantitative skills, including data extraction, coding, data mining, and trend analysis
  • Proficient in Excel, R Studio and SQLManagement Studio required
  • Proficient with data visualization tools, specifically Power BI and/or Tableau required
  • Prior experience with Git Repository, Azure DevOps, Jenkins or Python preferred

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Analytical mindset with a demonstrated aptitude for understanding marketing technologies, including CRM, loyalty and other technologies
  • Experience working with large datasets, developing detailed logical analyses and solving problems creatively
  • Strong understanding of consumer marketing practices and analyses
  • Strong ability to write complex SQL queries against large datasets and optimize queries for improved performance
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with ability to develop clear workplans and deliverables
  • Self-motivated individual with a high personal standard of excellence who can work independently to drive results
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all levels within the organization
  • Ability to function in a multi-project and sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Ability to engage and lead cross functionally
