Job Description

At Medidata, interns will have the opportunity to accelerate their careers by working closely with experienced professionals and gain valuable, hands-on, full-time work experience. For 12 weeks, beginning May 23, 2022, interns will have an opportunity to gain a deep understanding of what it means to be a Medidatian. You will be contributing to the line of business with sustainable and meaningful work.

Our Summer Internship program also includes instructor led training, guided mentorship, exposure to senior leadership and community service. In addition to individual and specific related responsibilities, each intern will participate in our Intern Innovation Lab. Assigned to cross-functional teams, interns will work closely to develop an innovative solution to a business problem currently facing Medidata. As they work diligently to present their final solutions to a panel of top Medidata leaders, we are confident that our interns will make a significant impact on our business.

Your Mission:

• Power smarter treatments and healthier people with innovative data analytic applications
• Works on data engineering issues where analysis of situations or data requires knowledge of client objectives
• Contribute to development of cloud based data systems (AWS and Snowflake) that requires balancing of depth of analysis and delivery timing
• Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists and cross-functional stakeholders to implement data science engineering solutions based on business priorities and technology initiatives.

Your Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of modern data architecture, data science engineering, data transformation, data modeling and manipulation of data using Python / SQL and cloud-native technologies like AWS 
• Familiarity with Big Data processing and distributed database / data warehouse technologies
• Good understanding of data-driven problem solving and balance of depth of analysis and delivery timing 
• Clear, concise communication abilities – writing and verbal
• Entrepreneurial spirit to creating high-quality insights from data, at scale.

Your Education & Experience:

• BS degree in a technical or engineering field, such as Computer Science Engineering, Data Engineering or Data Analytics
• Rising or graduating senior
