The Advanced Algorithm Scientist will focus on the development of advanced image reconstruction algorithms and processing technology required for existing and future GE Molecular Imaging products. The Scientist will be ideally located in Waukesha, Wisconsin and will work closely with our existing Advanced Algorithms discovery team, key opinion leaders and global research sites.

Job Description

Development of state-of-the-art Molecular Imaging reconstruction and processing algorithms.

  • Implement, maintain, and extend new or existing reconstruction features and technologies in line with the MI Imaging product development roadmap
  • Development of new breakthrough technologies in PET focused on image reconstruction techniques and algorithms.
  • Application of image reconstruction optimization and acceleration techniques.
  • Application of AI in imaging with particular focus on image reconstruction.
  • Collaborate with scientific peers, research scientists and strategic customers to develop new and exciting features across our portfolio of products.
  • Work closely with external partners and collaborators to demonstrate algorithm efficacy and acceptance.
  • Actively source new techniques and methodologies from the scientific community.

Job Qualification:

  • PhD Degree in engineering/science field, e.g. Electrical/Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience (Medical Imaging, Image Processing application development preferred) applying theoretical or experiential knowledge to solve real world problems.
  • Demonstrated experience in Imaging ( PET, NUC or CT) research and development.
  • Foundation in theories underlying machine learning and artificial intelligence technique
  • Knowledge of PET, NUC or CT reconstruction strategies and clinical applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and demonstrated team work skills
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment
  • Can-do attitude, self-driven, flexible, intellectually curious, willingness to learn new skills
  • Excellent English language communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work remotely and in virtual or distributed teams
