Job Description
As a valued colleague on our team, you will assess customer requests and collaborate with your team to determine solutions to solve business needs, use applications and BI tools to explore and understand data, and provide BI insights and solutions.
THE IMPACT YOU WILL MAKE
The Enterprise Risk - Business Intelligence - Senior Associate will provide you with the opportunity to collaborate with enterprise risk management executive and senior leadership teams. You will support their analytical needs by enhancing our ability to monitor and respond to operational, reputational, and strategic risk across the enterprise.
This role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:
- Attend meetings to discuss and identify customer needs and strive to do what's right for our customers.
- Contribute to designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining business intelligence (BI) applications and tools.
- Draft automated business processes and mechanisms to generate meaningful reports to help us deliver on Fannie Mae's vision and purpose.
- Analyze data to drive business decision-making capabilities.
- Contribute to identifying, researching, and resolving technical problems, including developing and implementing requirements for new features and enhancements.
- Collaborate effectively and communicate proactively with senior leadership to support committee and Board-level communications.
- Leverage critical thinking and problem-solving skills to solve business challenges and support effective decision-making.
- Manage and contribute to software development lifecycle for business unit-owned applications.
Qualifications

Minimum Required Experiences
- 2 years of relevant work experience
- Skilled communicator, critical thinker, and problem-solver
- Experience gathering accurate information to explain concepts and answer critical questions
- Skilled in presenting information and/or ideas to an audience in a way that is engaging and easy to understand
- Experience in the process of analyzing data to identify trends or relationships to inform conclusions about the data
- Working with people with different functional expertise respectfully and cooperatively to work toward a common goal
- Fundamental skills in the graphical representation of information in the form of a charts, diagrams, pictures, and dashboards with programs and tools such as Excel, Tableau, or Power BI
- Skilled in SQL programing
Desired Experiences
- Bachelor degree or equivalent
- Expertise in using statistical methods, including: developing and testing hypotheses, using experimental design, and running linear and logistic regressions
- Skilled in Tableau and other data visualization software (e.g., MS PowerBI, RShiny, Python, MicroStrategy)
- Skilled in documentation and database reporting for the purposes of analysis, data discovery, and decision-making
- The group of skills related to Influencing including negotiating, persuading others, facilitating meetings, and resolving conflict
- Adept at managing project plans, resources, and people to ensure successful project completion
