Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Software - Cyber Security Machine Learning Engineer who will join a small team that is focused on developing cutting edge solutions to address Cyber Security related puzzles for Wells Fargo. The ideal candidate will need to be experienced with big data environments (Multi-Petabyte), polyglot programmer, excel at data cleaning and curation, be comfortable working on ambiguous problems that likely have not been solved (or only partially solved), and have the ability to turn business requirements into solutions at high velocity. We are seeking someone that has experience and domain expertise in data science and machine learning with proven ability to mature and scale data models, and the ability to lead junior personnel that may not have this background and exposure. This position will have a heavy focus on innovation and bringing new ideas to the broader team which will require expert level documentation and the ability to seamlessly transitions solutions to other team members.

Additionally, the candidate we are seeking leads, designs, develops, test and implements applications and system components, tools and utilities, models, simulation, and analytics to manage complex business functions using sophisticated technologies. Has experience with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and can lead implementation of complex projects/initiatives in this technology area. Resolve coding, testing and escalated platform issues of a technically challenging nature. Responsible for defining opportunities across IT to maximize resource utilization and improve processes while reducing cost. Ensures that systems are monitored to increase operational efficiency and managed to mitigate risk.

Mentor and train other members of the team. Partner with Management, Dev, QA, production support and platform engineering teams effectively. Focuses on building relevant capabilities in the organization to keep pace with demand and best practices in the industry. 

Manage vendor/contractor partnerships to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Design, code, test, debug and document programs using Agile development practices.

Understands and leads the team to ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met and works with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives.


In this role, you will:

  • Lead solution development for complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact
  • Collaborate and consult with key Cyber Security teams, technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to implement complex projects
  • Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines
  • Design, code, test, debug, and document for Cyber Security focused projects and programs
  • Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors
  • Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives
  • Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor

Required Qualifications, US:

  • 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 5+ years of Agile experience
  • 5+ years of experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) tools
  • 3+ years of machine learning experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • An industry-standard technology certification
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • 5+ years of Python experience
  • 5+ years of experience delivering ETL, data warehouse and data analytics capabilities on big-data architecture such as Hadoop
  • 5+ years cyber security analysis experience
  • 2 + years of experience with Elasticsearch development, integration or support
  • 1+ year of experience with Hortonworks, Mapr, Cloudera or Hadoop experience in other distros
  • 1+ year of experience with deploying code to cloud based technologies
  • 1+ year of experience with Jupyter Notebooks
