ExxonMobil’s Planning and Decision Technology team is a multi-discipline team that combines decision science and data science to help hard decisions become great decisions. We help our internal partners bring clarity to complex domains and build products that improve decision making through data and technology. We are searching for a Decision Technology Analyst who is excited to use their creativity and strategic thinking skills to solve diverse, complex challenges.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Gather and interpret data, execute analysis, and articulate findings to influence and improve business decisions
- Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to bring clarity to ambiguous problems
- Lead internal teams to incorporate decision quality into decision making processes
- Support digital transformation of our decision processes through applied data science, enterprise architecture and modern web-application development
- Receive mentorship from our cross-functional team to develop skills and knowledge in strategy, economics, data analysis, design thinking, decision science and our business lines
JOB REQUIREMENTS
WE ARE SEEKING CANDIDATES WITH THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Education: Open to applicants with these degrees: BS/MS in Engineering, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Statistics, Quantitative Finance
- Formal Decision Analysis/Statistics Course Work
- Demonstrated interest in finance and/or economics
- Experienced in data engineering and analysis and able to create advanced visualizations using large datasets
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
- Proactive multitasker and comfortable managing priorities in tight deadlines
- Ability to independently create clarity from ambiguity, prioritizing achievement of business results over completion of predetermined tasks
- Ability to work on multiple engagements simultaneously, manage complexity, and travel internationally based on business needs
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- B.S. (or higher) degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering or equivalent, required,
- Must be willing and able to travel or relocate as required including internationally.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Experience and knowledge in Energy Finance
- Demonstrated work experience with algorithmic data analysis automation techniques using Python, R, SAS
- Demonstrated work experience within full-stack software development team
- Demonstrated expertise in either fine arts or liberal arts
- Demonstrated expertise in game theory
- Demonstrated systems thinking skills
The Decision Technology Analyst will be located in Spring, Texas and report to the Planning and Decision Technology Manager in ExxonMobil Global Projects Company.
