Job Description

The Facebook Health Technology team supports this mission in the discovery, development, and delivery of clinically validated health and wellness tools that have the potential to improve both individual and public health outcomes, at Facebook scale. The Health Technology team is seeking a Biostatistician, who will report to the Director of Health Technology Research, to guide analytic planning and execution for digital health projects aimed at improving health outcomes throughout the world. This is an opportunity for an accomplished Biostatistician to contribute their expertise to the developing Health Technology program at Facebook. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in clinical/health outcomes research and digital health solutions. The candidate will have demonstrated expertise in study planning and statistical analysis and programming for clinical trials/clinical research studies. The ideal candidate brings a wealth of experience working in interdisciplinary teams, including across both traditional biostatistics and data science domains. A successful candidate in this role is highly collaborative as well as self-driven, passionate, and able to execute consistently in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will work in and closely with interdisciplinary teams of product managers, engineers, clinicians and researchers to plan and execute research and validation of novel digital approaches to measuring and improving health and wellness.
Biostatistician Responsibilities
- Provide expert consultation across an interdisciplinary team of researchers, clinicians, engineers and product managers on study planning and statistical analysis plans
- Assist in the preparation of clinical trial documents, reports, protocols, scientific abstracts, peer-reviewed manuscripts, and regulatory communications
- Reviews and analyzes ongoing clinical research data, and develops tools/strategies to optimize data flow and accuracy
- Maintains knowledge of current and emerging trends in statistical analysis methodology
- Apply strong analytical communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills to ensure the highest of clinical research standards and validity and reproducibility of results
- Have a Scientific Publication Record
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 10 years of relevant experience applying advanced biostatistics, data science, clinical/health outcomes research, digital health technology assessment, in academic or commercial settings
- Experience working in multidisciplinary research and/or product development teams
- Expertise planning and execution/reporting of results of clinical/digital health research projects and pivotal studies
- Programming expertise relevant to/as needed to execute the above (e.g. R, Python, SQL)
- PhD in Biostatistics or other relevant field
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in consumer/digital health technology product development and/or research, with demonstration of success working within and across multidisciplinary teams (e.g. project/product managers, software engineers, research scientists, machine learning data scientists).
- Expertise in planning, analyses and reporting for regulatory studies for consumer/digital health technologies and/or innovative medical or health devices.
- Experience in developing and executing new projects/initiatives, and successfully implementing them in ‘real world’ settings.
