Job Summary

The Sr. Analyst plays a Lead role in fostering a data-driven culture. He/she is responsible for creating and growing a community for analytics and storytelling at McKesson Canada. He/she will help developing best practices in Analytics, dashboards, and scorecards required to provide insights for different business units.

The Sr. Analyst will listen to and collect business decision-maker needs, write briefs and suggest an approach to develop the right solution. He/she will provide technical, analytics and business expertise, assistance and training to end users throughout the company, use his or her data and analytics ability to find and interpret rich data sources, manage large amounts of data, merge data sources, ensure consistency of datasets; Will create visualizations to aid in understanding data, use his or her knowledge to evaluate the accuracy of data and present and communicate the data insights/findings to a variety of audiences.

Section A – Specific Responsibilities

• Develops McKesson Canada reporting capabilities in accordance with governance guidelines and policies
• Responsible to gather market and best practice information specific to the design and content of dashboards
• Leads implementation of enhancements and new Data and Analytics functionality with McKesson Technology department
• Mentors and trains internal stakeholders in Analytics
• Collaborates with Manager in assessing new best practices and opportunities to improve processes
• Conducts detailed analysis of complex data sets, including monitoring and ensuring data quality, loading data into power BI datasets from a variety of internal / external source formats, and automating data feeds to be used as input to analysis, dashboards and reports
• Interviews business users to determine requirements and business needs in information and insights.

Section B – Position Requirements

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Business Intelligence and/or Analytics
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or related field required 
• Minimum 1 year experience with Power BI
• Good knowledge of SQL, R and/or Python Proficient in the use of PC based office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• ETL / Data Warehousing understanding Willingness to learn in environment in constant evolution and transformation
• Detail oriented and very organized
• Bilingual (French and English)
• Hand-on experience or knowledge of Datascience techniques and advanced analytics approaches
• Hand-on experience with multiple data sources including structured and unstructured data sources
• Experience working in agile team
• Ability to work in a matrix environment.
