Job Description

The Data Architect position requires proven ability to design data modelling processes and internal databases to support McKesson Medical Surgical Profitability projects. Leading business and technical requirements, development and deployment of all project aspects. Developing self-service tools to be used companywide that identifies margin opportunities within the business to gain efficiencies or solve problems. The Data Architect will lead the technical design of databases used by multiple teams including (but not limited to) Delivered Profit, Margin Analytics, Contract Admin and Sales Effectiveness. Identifies trends and anomalies leading to margin gaps and areas of opportunities. Exhibits exceptional judgment when selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Able to communicate solutions to key stakeholders. Requires limited oversight, able to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop technical framework for Margin opportunities from end to end. Deploys, maintains and create standards and ad hoc reports and tools using available and new reporting tools and data environments. Leverages the team and subject matter expert throughout McKesson Including key service and efficiency metrics provided to executive and field leadership, sales leadership and others.
• Develop reporting to support proactive analysis of trends and performs root cause analysis. Prepare written analysis and summarize results using graphical representations and professional formatting for all levels of leadership across the organization. Builds models, scenario tools, constructs forecasts and recommendations for strategic/tactical plans based on business data and market knowledge. Partner with Profitability team to develop machine learning models. 
• Partner with Profitability team to develop machine learning models. Maintain data integrity and ongoing quality control of source data and delivered reports. 
• Develops and maintains standard operating procedures and end user documentation. 

Minimum Job Qualifications:

Education/Training – 4 Year Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain or Computer Science

Minimum 5 years experience as a Reporting Architect, Report Writer/Architect and/or Data Architect

Business Experience – 5 Years work experience in distribution healthcare or other related industry.

Critical Skills:

• Exceptional data modelling
• Experience with SQL, python, data extraction methodologies, relational and dimensional databases methods
• Proficient with PC including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
• Experienced with data visualization technologies like Tableau and Power BI 
• Microsoft Excel – Advanced included Pivot Tables, Vlookups, Sumifs
• Strong technical and analytical skills
• Strong report presentation skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Working Conditions:

• Traditional office environment. 
• Large percent of time performing computer based work is required.
