Job Description

Cox Communications is looking for a Sr. Data or Pricing Analyst who is experienced or interested in pricing strategy and analytics, data-mining and visualization capabilities-building and continuous improvement. This role will support and influence our acquisition pricing decisions by analyzing overall company/competitor offer value-props and specific acquisition pricing strategies including promotional discounts and pricing changes. The Sr. Pricing Analyst will also support continual revenue management capability expansion, testing efforts, and execution of recommendations. The candidate will work closely with teams across the company including Marketing, Sales, Advanced Analytics, Business Operations, Product Management, and others on diverse-work streams and ad-hoc projects.

This position is located in Atlanta, GA, and can be fully remote.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  • Serve as a data mining, visualization, and analysis expert reporting to the Senior Manager of Acquisition Pricing
  • Conduct extensive forecasting, financial modeling, and performance analysis around effectiveness of acquisition offer pricing changes and tests
  • Utilize a variety of data mining and visualization tools, including but not limited to Tableau, MicroStrategy, ThoughtSpot, and SQL
  • Identify patterns, correlations, and trends to develop, visualize, and present a data story with actionable insights
  • Enhance existing and help develop innovative methods and tools for reviewing, analyzing, forecasting, and presenting on pricing performance metrics
  • Work with Pricing Strategy Leaders to develop and implement acquisition pricing strategies for various markets, channels, products, and customer segments.
  • Represent Acquisition Pricing in various cross-functional work-streams and ad-hoc projects
  • Help recruit and eventually manage summer interns

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in pricing, finance, business analytics, marketing analytics, or data science functions
  • 3+ years of experience if candidate possesses a related advanced degree
  • Work experience in telecommunications, technology, or subscription-based businesses
  • Proficiency with quantitative tools including Excel and presentation tools such as PowerPoint and willingness to learn new software tools that may become available to the team
  • Proficiency with at least one of the following data mining and/or visualization tools: SQL, Tableau, MicroStrategy, ThoughtSpot, Python, or Snowflake
  • Strategic thinker and problem solver
  • Comfort setting direction and drawing insight from multiple (and often unclear and/or incomplete) data sources
  • Highly organized with strong ability to work independently, manage multiple projects with high visibility, high-impact, and tight timelines simultaneously
  • Strong written, oral communication, and presentation skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Continuous learner mindset focused on continuous improvement
  • Effective collaborator able to work with teams and leaders throughout the organization

Preferred:

  • 5+ years of work experience in pricing, marketing analytics, financial modeling, or business analytics
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, economics, finance, or similar analytical or technical field
  • Advanced proficiency with data mining and visualization tools including SQL, Tableau, MicroStrategy, ThoughtSpot, Python, Snowflake, or equivalent is preferred but not required
  • Experience presenting and pitching recommendation to senior leaders
  • Experience recruiting and managing direct reports
