Within the Messenger Experiences team our vision is to build innovative messaging experiences to help users around the world connect with communities and hang out with their friends and family when apart. In this role, you will have the opportunity to investigate trends and user needs to influence our friends and family hang out strategy and help shape the future of messaging products at Meta (and consequently the world). We are looking for a passionate, autonomous, impact seeker who will work cross functionally with Product, Engineering and Design leads and is excited to drive high level strategy.
Data Scientist, Analytics - Messenger Chat Experience Responsibilities
- Embrace the ambiguity, uncertainties, and enjoy being out of your comfort zone.
- Build long term vision, strategy, success framework for the Messenger Chat Experience.
- Drive horizontal and vertical alignment to translate this vision into actions across teams.
- Mentor and coach Data Scientists around you.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of experience working in an analytics organization.
- Experience tackling high level and ambiguous business problems by framing questions into thorough analytical plan and communicate to stakeholders.
- Experience in developing clear, actionable and robust data narratives.
- Experienced communicator with proven track record of influencing decision making at leadership level through data.
- Experience working independently and as a member of a cross-functional team.
- Experience in querying and manipulating large datasets for analysis, using SQL and R/Python.
- Experience with analytical methods: A/B test analyses, statistical modeling, trends analyses.
- Experience mentoring and coaching other Data Scientists as a tech lead.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience working in an analytics organization
- Experience with large data sets and distributed computing (Hive/Hadoop)
