Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience leveraging Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a similar quantitative field.
  • 2 years of experience in an ads focused role.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree, MBA, or PhD with a training/emphasis in quantitative survey research or qualitative research.
  • Experience utilizing Data Engineering for pipelining, scripting, and SQL coding/querying, and data cleaning for downstream data analysis, and reporting.
  • Experience with quantitative research and statistical methods, including sampling, weighting, statistical testing on attribute and continuous data, and Design of Experiments.
  • Experience in qualitative research and text analysis methods including Natural Language Processing (NLP), and supervised and unsupervised machine learning.
  • Knowledge of the digital advertising space and familiarity with Google Ads products.

gTech’s Product and Tools Operations team (gPTO) leverages deep user, operational, and technical insights to innovate Google's Ads products into customer experiences that are so intuitive (or automated) that they require no support at all. gPTO partners closely with gTech’s Support, Professional Services, Product Management, and Engineering teams to innovate and simplify our Ads products and build the productivity tools ecosystem for gTech users.

As a Research Insights Lead in the Customer Experience Lab, you will scope, design, execute, analyze, and report on complex recurring and/or prioritized quantitative surveys and qualitative research studies in support of Google products and product leadership. You will shape and contribute to the continuous development of research capabilities spanning methods development and adoption, data collection, analysis and reporting, and standardization of offerings for our stakeholders. You will leverage your quantitative and qualitative methodological skills to shape appropriate research objectives, design research instruments, facilitate study execution, implement quality control, conduct data analysis and interpret, document, and report findings. You will accomplish this work in a dynamic, fast-moving business environment.

Additional Information
(Colorado only*) Minimum salary of $117,000 + bonus + equity + benefits .
*Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum salary compensation for this role when being hired into our offices in Colorado.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with research sponsors on business objectives, risks, challenges, and opportunities to ensure efforts are supportive of business decision making and are actionable by executive leadership.

  • Lead quantitative customer surveys and/or qualitative customer-facing research projects, including study design, development, execution, analysis, insights development, and insights sharing with research sponsors.
  • Ensure quantitative survey and qualitative research studies measure and report on actionable and insightful metrics, and yield the highest methodological and scientific standards for survey and instrument design, assessment, quality control, and analysis. 
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of existing quantitative survey and qualitative research offerings, methods, and processes and to the development of new offerings that will create positive impact for Google and our Users.
