We are looking for a person who would be tasked with building out a tech competitive intelligence function within Tech Strategy. The purpose of this function is to deepen our knowledge of technology trends in the market and will be a part of the impact that drives Capital One technology forward.

As a Director on the team, you will:

• Develop Capital One’s perspectives on emerging technologies (e.g., quantum, blockchain, edge computing, and more), including what they are, which could have highest impact for Capital One, and how Capital One should take advantage of the emerging technologies
• Partner with our CIO, division CIOs, Capital One Ventures, Capital One Labs, and other teams to develop the points of view, track current investments, and form new ventures
• Lead teams and manage the professional development

• Presence and communication: You have executive level presence and can communicate your ideas in a concise and compelling way. 
• Influencing: You have high-level strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills. 
• Big picture thinking: You always have the big picture in mind. If required, you can go deep to develop a sound implementation approach. 
• Technology experience: Previous experience with technology strategy development, architecture, or technology delivery is a plus. 
• Strategy development experience: Previous experience in consulting or strategy development as a leader of teams is required. 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree
• At least 6 years of experience in strategy consulting or business analysis

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Master’s Degree
• 3+ years in people management in a strategy development or consulting environment
