Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to lead, define and execute the data and analytics strategy for a thriving data-rich domain within Netflix called Games & Title Launch Management. As part of the Data Science & Engineering team, you will work with product, operations and technical experts to design metrics, run deep-dive analysis, build dashboards and innovative data products to quantitatively influence members and our business strategy. 

Your stakeholders, the Games & Title Launch Management teams, are responsible for launching titles (shows & movies) and games globally, accurately and on time. Each launch is a delicate orchestration of often thousands of creative, operations, and technical experts working over many months (or years), both inside and outside Netflix, to produce and assemble thousands of assets (e.g. artwork, video, subtitles, synopses, etc.) that meet Netflix’s high-quality bar. Managing such a complex project consumes and produces a tremendous amount of data. Organizing, analyzing, and deriving actionable insights from this data is essential for launch risk management & scaling Netflix’s business. This pivotal role is central to that goal.

It is worth calling out that Games Launch Management is a relatively new and growing part of our business with its own unique exciting challenges. There you’ll find additional opportunities to shape our data strategy in a space that is close to its inception. This is in contrast to the Title Launch Management space that is relatively more data mature. Thus this role offers a great mix of working on big data problems as well as building scrappy solutions with nascent data sets.

• You dream in SQL and Python (or other similar languages). Experience in building and managing ETL pipelines, in addition to analytics, is a big plus.
• You are comfortable with Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Presto, etc.
• The Netflix culture resonates with you.
