Tableau’s Office of the CDO is seeking an experienced Sr. Director of Ai & Analytics. The candidate should have an extensive background in Analytics, Data Science/Machine Learning, Models, Data Platforms, Data Warehousing, Data Services, service-oriented architecture principles and business practices. This position will report to the Tableau Chief Data Officer, and will be driving greenfield strategy for a Ai & Analytics organization that will focus on powering Tableau with data by design eventing, data-driven business strategy and best in class Data Science practices. The leader will be a trusted advisor for our business partners, and work closely with the leaders within the Tableau Data and Analytics (TabDnA) team. This role is critical for a trust Data-First culture, and a focus on the value of data.

Role Description

The Business Intelligence Lead will initially operate as an IC, establishing the relationships, strategy, opportunity and low-hanging fruit for the new CDO function. The leader will partner heavily with the Data Science, Data Platform & Engineering, Architecture and Data Governance leaders to support Tableau business needs and improve visibility into the CDO office impact. This leader will create the framework for programs that will grow the business, understand usage patterns, improve product experience, Go-To-Market (GTM) plans and ensure the realization of operational efficiency that supports the company strategy and priorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Define CDO Ai & Analytics function strategy, opportunity, roadmap and priorities
  • Create Ai strategy and technology footprint
  • Understand current state business strategies and nextGen strategy direction
  • Understand the capabilities and value propositions of the current product portfolio and roadmap and the resulting Industry opportunities, challenges, and business concerns.
  • Develop scenario-based business value propositions and differentiated offers that incorporate content and story architectures based on industry and business experience 
  • Work with the Data Platform & Services, Telemetry and internal business teams to strategize, envision, and plan Ai & Analytics solutions and offerings that align and support Tableau & Salesforce business strategy
  • Communicate Tableau AI & Analytics Value Proposition as it aligns to the scenario.
  • Engage deeply with the sales to modernize Field reporting and drive Tableau Literacy 
  • Research industry challenges and opportunities to understand market trends, competitive forces, and Tableau/Salesforce product differentiation to inform the scenarios
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, finance and other v-teams to land the overall GTM strategy that supports all the sales stages, demand generation through deal closure.
  • Harvest existing Tableau IP to support scenarios, identify IP gaps, and develop required IP to rollout GTM solutions.

Qualifications:

Desired Knowledge and Experience:

  • 6+ years of Program or Product Management
  • Experience in marketing, communications, messaging, data synthesis, and storytelling.
  • Experience with AI and the data estate requirements to power advanced analytics models, the current opportunities, and challenges in this space as well as the competitive landscape around AI.
  • Business consulting experience is highly desired.
  • Experience in Technology is mandatory.
  • Strong user behavior design led thinking, business process and architecture acumen.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate business challenges with corresponding solution approaches into technical requirements
  • Strong analytical skills, a passion for analytics technology, and creativity in defining how new technologies can help customers reduce costs, improve profitability, gain efficiency, and gain a competitive advantage and the ability to translate business challenges with corresponding solution approaches into rationalized GTMs
  • Experience building Usage, Sales or Delivery offerings
  • Demonstrated ability to learn fast in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to communicate with senior executives, customers and partners effectively and professionally.
  • Adaptable work-style - functioning well both as a member of the team and as a self-directed, independent worker.
  • An undergraduate degree in Business or Information Systems, or equivalent experience. An MBA will be a key differentiator.
  • Ability to influence the business and engineering teams, on both short term and long term needs
