The Global Sales Intelligence team at Salesforce is looking for a data scientist to develop AI-driven recommendation to help our Alliances & Channels team achieve extraordinary value. We are looking for someone to join our team to work on groundbreaking R&D projects, to leverage massive structured, unstructured, transactional and real-time data sets from a variety of sources, to analyze usage and behavior patterns. We aim to provide actionable recommendations to enable our sales teams to increase their productivity, remove obstacles and reduce their time spend on on-sales activities.
You will be a key member, working closely with the Alliances & Channels team and Salesforce Research to develop methods in recommendation systems. The resulting product will define the next generation of personalized recommendation systems and will be essential in lifting key sales performance indicators.
The ideal candidates will have a solid background in developing end-to-end data science products, including data ETL, model development, model explanations, data visualization, and production automation. They should also have a good analytical skills to identify the impact of the recommendation systems on sales teams’ productivity

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Alliances & Channels team and Salesforce Research team to develop the recommendation system
• Build ETL pipelines with SQL and Python based technologies and platforms.
• Own the machine learning pipeline end-to-end (data pipeline, model maintenance, QA, and insight delivery)
• Optimize the current recommendation code structure to make the code scalable and easily configurable for other projects
• Develop the explanations to explain models’ recommendations to sales teams
• Analyze the recommendation system user behaviors and identify the causal relationship and uplift on how recommendations influence sales teams’ productivity
• Work with different technologies (Python, R, shell scripts) and translate logic into well-performing SQL or other relational language and/or platform.
• Develop data products on SQL (Oracle, Snowflake) and Python on cloud platforms (AWS, GCP). Be prepared to learn new platforms and syntax with short ramp-up cycles.
• Automate data pipelines using workflow management tools like Airflow etc.
• Be prepared for changes in business direction and understand when to adjust designs.
• Design, develop and document database objects with the best architectural principles and patterns.
• Collaborate on data visualization efforts to drive insights for the business
• Demonstrate operational excellence and strong can-do attitude.

Job Requirements

• Master degree in Computer Science or equivalent/related degree.
• 2+ years of industrial machine learning / statistical analytics experience including recommendation system, model explanations, or causal inference
• 3+ years of professional experience with SQL
• 2+ years of Python development experience working with third-party APIs and building custom ETL packages.
• Experience in machine learning product development is a plus
• Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.
• Ability to work effectively in an unstructured and fast-paced environment both independently and in a team setting, with a high degree of self-management.
• Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks in a highly dynamic environment with a results-oriented mindset.
  Strong problem solving with acute attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines and project plans.
• Familiarity with Scrum/Agile project management methodologies.
