In the AI, Analytics & Data domain you will be part of our AI Foundation Product Area where our vision is to make H&M Group the industry leader in applied AI with scalable and integrated solutions covering the entire value chain.

Within this area you will take responsibility for several products that create AI solutions

- for optimizing the supply chain & pricing across the H&M Group - with ultimate accountability for the business and customer value it delivers or

- improve decision making in areas such as customer acquisition, retention, reactivation and personalization with ultimate accountability to grow the value of our customer base and improve the personalized experience of shopping at the H&M group.

Job Description

Responsibilities

As a result-driven leader, you will play a vital role for us in our mission to make H&M Group a true data- and AI-driven company by empowering teams to deliver highly scalable AI solutions using modern software engineering best practices.

You will be responsible for two teams consisting of around 10-15 engineers, both of which work in a fully agile and cross-functional setup. You need to be passionate about people in all aspects, from recruiting, developing, coaching, and shaping the team. You do this in close collaboration with the team’s Product Owner and Scrum Master, and together you are the trio that supports the teams becoming well-functioning and high performing with people as the center of your joint mission.

As a Machine Learning Engineer Manager, you will also:

  • Help teams ensure that their solutions are in line with our machine learning best practices for the full AI development lifecycle.
  • Facilitate collaboration across teams & domains
  • Support career development and discuss the performance of your engineers
  • Empower the teams without micro-managing
  • Help the teams make high-quality decisions if they are blocked.

Qualifications

Who you are?

You are smart, humble, and passionate about helping shape the agenda for our AI-driven future.  In order to succeed, we believe that you have previous experience in leading highly technical personnel in an agile software development environment and have previous experience and passion for AI. You also have a good understanding of modern technologies such as cloud, workflow orchestration, and model serving patterns. You, data & software engineering are close friends, and you understand the challenges in implementing AI solutions that are easy to operate & maintain.

We believe you are a person that makes an impact, easily engages people, and believes in creating a learning organization.  You are a strong leader and act as an ambassador in the organization in how to coach and develop the team. You have strong communication skills, experience with change management, and believe in the power of people. You feel accountable for the work being undertaken and take pride in challenging/changing the status quo. You dare to speak up when necessary and seek input and feedback to improve further. We believe that you are skilled in stakeholder management and great in building a big network within the organization.

You also

  • have previous experience with leadership and staff responsibility 
  • have a degree in data science, AI, software engineering, or a similar field (e.g., computer science and programming) and a strong will to continuously develop your engineering skillset 
  • have key technical skills to help advise teams to deliver AI solutions.
  • are results-oriented and a good communicator.
  • have relevant working experience in developing machine learning products,
  • experience in the retail domain focused on customer experience, marketing, or supply chain
  • have experience with handling high volume heterogeneous data (both batch and stream) and a good understanding of data storage and data structure would be a big plus
  • have experience in an agile environment, team collaboration, data-driven development, reliable and responsible experimentation
  • you are a team player, solution-driven and open-minded, with a passion for continuous improvement
