Job Description

The Machine Learning Team at Symbotic is expanding, and we’re looking to hire a talented ML Engineer to assist in the development and visualization of predictive maintenance algorithms for autonomous mobile robots. Expect to query and extract insights from robot logs, prototype algorithms for identifying and classifying anomalies, and solve the scaling issues required to deploy your algorithms to fleets of thousands of robots.

Our ideal candidate has a formal education in computer science with specialization in machine learning, brings rigorous adherence to the scientific method and software development best practices, and is comfortable with mechanical and electrical systems. Experience working with cloud tooling for querying, analysis, and visualization tasks is strongly preferred. Familiarity with containerization technologies is a plus.

Responsibilities:Develop and support predictive maintenance and health monitoring applications through the following:

• Work with staff ML Scientists to advance existing predictive health AI applications
• Devise and support data collection experiments for autonomous mobile robots
• Develop clustering algorithms to aggregate anomalies and identify hardware quality issues
• Collaborate with other engineering teams to understand customer requirements, communicate results, and advocate for your technology

Qualifications

• Proficiency with SQL and Python. Optional: experience with Julia a plus.
• Adherence to software engineering best practices
• Experience developing large software projects working as a member of a team in an Agile environment
• Knowledge of computer and cloud architecture concepts and their limitations
• Experience developing solutions in AWS, GCP or MS Azure
• Analytics tooling experience in Tableau, Power BI, Qlik or Mode
• Nice to have: Database design principles (Relational and non-relational), CI/CD tooling experience
• Must have: a product obsession and a sense of humor
