Job Description

Chime is looking for a software engineer intern to join our Data Science and Machine Learning organization. You will gain valuable professional experience working with cutting edge data technologies, distributed systems and cloud platforms alongside ML practitioners with a wealth of experience to share. This is an exciting opportunity to learn while playing a role in a critical development area at Chime that has the potential to affect millions of our members.

In this role, you can expect to

• Assist with the design, development, testing, and deployment of Machine Learning models and ML-enabled services.
• Learn and execute on best practices in data exploration, handling, and usage in an enterprise setting
• Work with a cross-functional team and understand how ML is developed and used at scale within a corporation, including compliance workflows, design considerations, and technical architecture.
• Dig into a functional area of how ML is applied to business problems in one of our focus areas (Risk/Fraud, Member Services, Consumer Product, Growth Product, Marketing, Core Services) and develop tooling/capabilities to assist future work in those teams.

To thrive in this role, you have

• Prior academic training in Machine Learning and Statistics
• Coursework or hands-on experience with a focus on data and analysis
• Knowledge of Python and SQL and comfort with data wrangling
• Have a passion for learning and applying technology to solve real-world problems
• Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms as a bonus!

This role is structured as a 3 month engagement.
