Job Description
Our team delivers and processes media content, develops the VKontakte platform, integrates solutions from other departments, and develops static code analysis tools. Thanks to our work, millions of people can watch their favorite videos and hear the voices of loved ones.
We are opening a new direction, which will require a lot of dashboards and charts. The product itself is similar to Grafana, but with a focus on working with very big data. We expect that the new system will become the flight control center of the VKontakte platform: it will display all graphs with metrics.
You will:
• develop interfaces and data visualization systems;
• optimize libraries;
• design frontend architecture;
• create integrations with other services.
It's interesting for us, because:
• the project is written from scratch - without restrictions on browsers and technologies;
• it's 100% open source - all development is done in the public GitHub and will perfectly decorate your developer activity tile;
• You won't have to write a component library - almost everything is already in our VKUI library;
• it will be difficult and cool - you are waiting for challenges, unusual problems and the search for non-trivial solutions.
We expect that you:
• have been involved in front-end development for at least 6 years;
• excellent understanding of JavaScript with a particular focus on memory usage and the garbage collector;
• know how to work with pure D3.js;
• are engaged in optimization of rendering of pages and animations;
• have experience in building a system from scratch;
• draw graphs on Canvas and SVG;
• proactive.
