Job Description
As a Machine Learning Scientist in PayPal’s Global Data Science organization, you will have an impact on PayPal’s Merchant and Consumer products all around the world, developing Machine Learning solutions to solve sophisticated problems in the domain of fraud detection. Making use of PayPal’s endless amount of data, you will leverage your data and machine learning skills, for research and delivery of end-to-end Data Science solutions. If you are a data enthusiast with sharp analytical skills and a passion for deriving new insights from unimaginable amounts of data, solving unique challenges, leveraging machine learning algorithms, and working in a highly collaborative, values-driven environment – then PayPal’s Global Data Sciences (GDS) is looking for you.
As a Machine Learning Scientist you will be responsible for:
- Developing Machine Learning solutions to solve sophisticated problems in the domain of fraud detection
- Working with partners to translate business challenges into Data Science problems and analysing various kinds of data to conclude actionable insights
- Building large scale (all PayPal transactions or logins!) end-to-end data solutions in close collaboration with our engineering teams
- Transforming large amounts of complex data into business insights and solutions by using the latest technology in machine learning, innovation and analytic methodologies.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience
- Masters degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, etc.)
- Code writing capability in any programming language (preferably Python, R, Java, Scala, etc.) and familiarity with relevant ML packages
- GCP/Hadoop and big data experience – an advantage
- High level communication skills
- Team player, responsible, delivery-oriented
- Excellent spoken and written English
