Who You'll Work With

You will be based in our Dallas or Waltham office as part of our ClienTech data team.

ClienTech's Data Team builds and shapes the data technology footprint for our McKinsey assets teams to help solve client's toughest functional and industry data challenges. You will partner with them to understand the business problem and solve it with a technology solution through the lens of data & analytics. You will also work with a broader architecture community to engage in data architecture topics/discussions.

What You'll Do

You will have responsibilities that range from shaping and implementing strategic products to ensuring that McKinsey’s craft stays on the leading edge of technology. 

In this role, you will work with McKinsey teams and practices to identify, scope and build new data assets to support client work at scale with a focus on building data ETLs, pipelines and BI dashboards.

You will collaborate with leadership to grow an asset service line to help client-facing teams access data. You will advise teams on building a best-in-class data lake, data ecosystem and help them understand the relative advantages of one data source over another.

You will develop better approaches to solving business and technical challenges. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent area
• 8+ years of experience in data architecture, designing and building data assets and products
• Proficient in Python, R or equivalent coding language
• Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure or GCP 
• Proficient in Infra as code best practices (e.g. AWS CloudFormation, Terraform)
• Experience in building the data pipelines/platforms and workflows from ground up
• Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases, ETL tools (e.g. Snaplogic, Alteryx), and BI tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI)
• Experience with data security and sensitivity along with encryption at rest and in-transit
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills paired with the ability to implement creative and effective solutions
• High level of integrity and maturity when dealing with confidential and sensitive personal data
• Able to work under pressure, manage client expectations and influence senior business and IT executives on technology decisions
• Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid changes common in early-stage product development
• Distinct customer focus and quality mindset
• Able to manage own professional development and contribute to functional knowledge building
• Strong command of English language (both verbal and written)
